Mount Kilimanjaro is the only mountain in the world with a perfect symmetrical crater, it is a metaphor for the compelling beauty of east Africa.
The total climb takes up to six-seven days and involves overnight stays in mountain camping. Kilimanjaro means the mountain with no end. It is composed of 3 distinct volcanic cones: Kibo at 5895m, Mawenzi at 5149m and Shira at 3962m. Uhuru, meaning in Swahli language the peak of freedom,is the highest summit on Kibo's crater rim. Mawezi and Shira are extinct, but Kibo is dormand, his most recent activity was about 200 years ago.
This mountain is unique because during the ascent you will climb through every kind of ecological systems and climate regions: cultivated land, rain forest, heat, moorland, alpine desert and arctic cold.
