Milan history and modern culture

Milan is a city which impress because of the interference of old and new, history and modern culture. It is situated in the Lombard region in north Italy and is the financial, commercial and industry center of Italy.

The Ambrozian Library contains marks and notes from Leonardo da Vinci and a multitude of other manuscripts, being a archive of inestimable value for the entire Europe.

Milan has a multitude of museums and gallerys: Poldi-Pezzoli Museum, Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, Museum of Natural History, Theatre Museum, The Ambrozian Gallery, The Modern Art Gallery.

The Galleria Vitorio Emanuelle II was built between 1864 and 1864 by Giuseppe Mengoni and is a commercial gallery with 4 levels- a shopping paradise.
If you are in Milan and you enjoy football games then it is necessary to see the Giuseppe Meazza stadium , known as San Siro stadium - it was built in 1925 and has a capacity of 80.000 places, and is the place where the two teams Internazionale Milano and A.C. Milan play theyr home games.
